In Spokane’s most underserved neighborhoods, Spokane Youth for Christ (YFC) is transforming afternoons into opportunities. Through its After-School Initiative, YFC provides a safe, welcoming space for youth ages 11 to 19 to learn, grow, and belong. At two thriving community centers, young people discover not only academic support and job training, but also mentorship rooted in faith, encouragement, and personal development.
Each program is designed to build both skill and self-worth. Workshops and specialized cohorts in music, barista training, trades, and financial literacy give students practical experience that prepares them for the future while connecting them to a supportive community. Beyond academics and job readiness, every interaction fosters confidence, resilience, and the realization that each life has purpose and value.
By 2026, Spokane YFC aims to serve more than 1,000 youth, provide direct mentorship to 150 students, and connect 900 families with vital community resources. The organization’s approach is deeply holistic—meeting tangible needs while nurturing spiritual and emotional growth. Through the support of the Genova Foundation, YFC continues to empower Spokane’s next generation to rise above circumstance, discover their gifts, and become leaders of change within their own communities.
