Marketplace & Development Enterprises (MDE) is transforming how faith and business intersect in the modern world. In regions where traditional mission work faces barriers, MDE equips business professionals to create sustainable, faith-driven enterprises that uplift communities both economically and spiritually. By turning commerce into a catalyst for compassion, the organization empowers individuals to “make money and make disciples” in some of the most underserved corners of the globe.
With support from the Genova Foundation, MDE is partnering with CHE Kenya to develop a replicable social enterprise model that blends apiculture—sustainable beekeeping—with community development. This innovative collaboration unites economic empowerment with environmental stewardship, offering a framework for long-term self-sufficiency that can be adapted across regions and industries.
In the short term, the initiative will produce a comprehensive business plan and training framework designed to guide future entrepreneurs and community leaders. Over time, MDE aims to help launch multiple honey-based businesses that not only generate income but also strengthen families, protect natural resources, and advance Christian witness worldwide.
Through this partnership, MDE demonstrates that meaningful change happens where faith meets ingenuity—proving that business can be one of the most powerful tools for transformation.
